Anthony Rowe is a Registered Practicing Planner and a BPAD Level Three since 2017.
He has occupied positions in State and Local government and the private sector.
This has included positions of principal policy officer with Tourism, the Department of Trade and Economic Development and ministerial advisor to the Minister for Small Business (SA), Minister for Regional Development (SA) and the Minister for the River Murray (SA). He had been responsible for the development facilitation of some of the state’s major projects and, on reflection, summarizes the period as ‘how to make things happen without money‘
He had contributed to the development of local government reform and its legislation SA and had carriage of Local Government Act and Regulatory amendments on code of conduct and finance. He has also been an elected member ‘to see what its like on the other side’.
He was the Minister for Planning (SA) representative to the Environment Resources Development Court and executive to the South Australian Planning Commission technical committee on implementation and policy reform.
His career in State Government (SA) started with assisting the policy development following the Ash Wednesday Fires and his career frequently bought him back to the topic.
His experience administering the requirements of both town planning and building regulation, both in South Australia, and in Western Australia since 2012,.
This includes the City of Busselton from 2012 and its early administration of Bushfire policy.
Since 2018, he has been employed in the private sector, specialising in the topic of bushfire.
